FIELDNOTES ON ALLYSHIP: ACHIEVING EQUALITY TOGETHER
Fieldnotes on Allyship is a set of eighteen essays from writers on three continents sharing their thoughts and notes about allyship, both from the perspective of Black people and People of Color as well as the learned education and insights from white allies. The writers comprise anti-racism activists, authors, anthropologists, artists, a Masters Athlete, college professors, retired Navy, a lawyer, mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, sisters, and brothers, all of various ethnicities. My essay, “Meeting Face to Face,” is included, and I was a copy editor of the final galleys.
The introduction is by Tim Wise, with bookends for the foreword and conclusion by Clay Rivers, the founder of the organization “Our Human Family,” which not only distributes stories on Medium through our publication “Our Human Family” (https://medium.com/our-human-family) but also publishes its own books about equality, diversity, inclusion, and equity.
